I got the chance to represent us at the PARKSHOW 2019. Being able to talk with some of the staff, designers and models he was able to get some behind the scenes footage of what it’s like in the fashion industry. The event featured multiple talented pieces by local and world renowned designers and span over a two day period.

BRIGHTSIDE X LOCAL LAUNDRY @locallaundry
At PARKSHOW 2019, Local Laundry will be collaborating with Brightside on a new mobile banking app, on some custom pieces. Brightside is excited to debut their design collaboration with Local Laundry on the runway, which will inspire the look their Brightside team will wear out and about in Alberta as they get closer to launching their new mobile banking app later this year.

With a focus on clean lines and classic silhouettes, Eliza Faulkner is known for her ultra-feminine dresses, and bold use of color and texture. Eliza manufactures all of her clothing in Montreal, and uses deadstock fabric and notions whenever possible.

Gaia & Dubos is a Quebec-based company born in 2015. Léonie Daignault-Leclerc, designer and founder of Gaia & Dubos, began her fashion designer career at the age of 12, designing made-to-measure garments for herself and her customers.
Gaia & Dubos wants to change the face of the fashion industry by offering products resulting from sustainable development. They also want to give the power back to consumers by giving them an education on ecological and ethical fashion.

Fireflies For Lanterns @firefliesforlanterns
Fireflies for Lanterns means to have humble beginnings. It embodies the spirit of starting where you can, with what you have. It is the spirit of ambition, a moment of inspiration. That is, using fireflies to light your path forward when you don’t have a lantern, a philosophy which was integral to the creation of the brand itself. The firefly’s light is captured and portrayed as two golden speckles in the logo’s lettering. The poster girl for Fireflies for Lanterns would be wearing a beautiful white gown, climbing a tree barefoot, elegant and wild. Her spirit is unconquerable and unmatched. She is unapologetic in pursuing her passions. She is effortlessly timeless. She is unforgettable.

Kate Hewko is Calgary based fashion entrepreneur recognized internationally for her collections that are always ahead of the trends. Her work is so fierce and ground-breaking she has been featured in magazines such as Vogue Korea, Refinery 29, Fashion Magazine and Flare, and been seen on notable celebrities Miley Cyrus, Adina Menzel and Cyndi Lauper. Kate Hewko’s collections are undoubtedly an outlet for self expression, defying age and the status quo.
Kate is a dynamo and keen collaborator, she has partnered with many local companies and designers to promote and foster fashion and talent in Canada. Her vision is global and forward thinking, yet she acts and encourages locally with her fl air and passion for change.
Lennard Taylor @lennardtaylordesign
Lennard Taylor was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba with heritage from Britain and Switzerland. His design career began when he returned home from a tour of Europe to explore his dream of becoming a soccer star. With those dreams dashed by an injury to his knee he knew right away that Winnipeg was where he was going to make a name for himself. The garment-rich city proved to be the perfect place for Lennard to hone his skills as a designer.
He continues to grow the business with the help of his older sister, Laural who manages the operation while he pushes the boundaries of his design.
