On July 28th, 2019, 10X Music & Culture hosted the very first Hoop & Grill Annual Cook Out at The Bounce court in East Village! 10X Music & Culture, with amazing support and from East Village, Genesis Basketball, Red Bull Canada, Lexington Ave. and Gold's Gym Calgary brought some serious heat to the summer with the first inaugural community basketball tournament and cookout. This was not your typical backyard BBQ; teams in each of the two divisions battled it out on the court for a cash prize of $1000 while spectators cheered, enjoyed live music from local DJs and hip-hop artists and feasted on delicious food from a variety of vendors from around the city. The goal of this event was to activate the diverse culture in downtown Calgary and create unity and prosperity within communities through the love of basketball, food and hip-hop culture. Needless to say, it was successful beyond measure and was a memorable event for the city of Calgary!
